Give GREAT thanks to attract MORE into your life.

You'll often read in my posts, how strongly I feel about the power of gratitude. I reference it in goal-setting, the law of attraction, being positive, feeling abundant and full, and many more aspects of a great life. I truly believe that an important aspect of "creating your great life" begins with identifying areas of your life that are already working well for you. I have experienced great changes in my life, and feel them on a daily basis, when I make a conscious effort to feel gracious and say thanks for everything that exists in my daily life. When I acknowledge the things that I am thankful for, I feel more positive, abundant, happy, rich, blessed and inspired.

For me, I am a very visual person. I like to post photos, poems, inspiring words and phrases, all around my apartment, desk and car, as gentle reminders of the ways that I want to live my life.

You may try a small gratitude exercise today and every day. Look around you, say and feel how thankful you are for the people in your life, the things that you have that make your life easier (a car, clothing, computer, phone, luxuries, free time), the weather, each new day, love, fortune, whatever it is. Take a moment, and breathe in slowly 5 times, bring the things you are thankful for to the front of your mind. Sit with this feeling of gratitude and experience the shifts that will occur in your daily life in return, when you stop feeling short-changed (negative) and start feeling abundant, fulfilled and blessed (positive). You may even notice that you have started to attract MORE into your life, when you make this shift in your attitude and outlook.

This poem really spoke to me on "The Power of Gratitude," I've even heard it referenced as having "an attitude for gratitude." Absolutely love all things related to "gratitude." Have a cite, quote, personal experience, poem or anything to share on this topic? Please feel free to leave your thoughts in comments below!

'Be Thankful'

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

  1. Hey DeAnna,

Gratitude is definitely a positive force! About a week ago, I purchased a small journal. I call it my gratitude journal because every night I write all of the things I was grateful and thankful for throughout the day. It's a great way to end the day!
