Traveling has always been one of my greatest passions. I love the thrill of it all, especially overseas travel. Packing, prepping your passport, tying up loose ends at home with friends/family/work and the excitement of the blank pages in your book that are waiting to be written. For me, an amazing thing happens when I touch down in a new place. I feel instantly alive, motivated and inspired. Mentally, I have always referred to these trips as times when I am "finding myself." But, where did I really go...that I needed to find myself? And what was I in search of?
It was only recently, that I came across this quote that had a profound and spiritual effect on the way I've been thinking about life. This quote came to me at the time when I was launching my first business, "Create Your Great Life" (yes, I started my business while our country is in an economic recession, more on that later). Something amazing happened when I sat in front of this quote, a transformational shift in the way I've been thinking all along. "Life isn't about finding yourself....," I repeated over and over in my mind. "Life is about creating yourself...," creating yourself, huh? Isn’t this EXACTLY what I believe for my clients? Isn’t this the exact NOTION I believe about the world? It is!
"Finding yourself" implies that a part of you is missing. But that is not right, at all. YOU are EXACTLY what you should be, at this very moment in time. You are creative. You are resourceful. And, you are whole.
Life...is about creating yourself. Which is the very reason I invite you to my blog. I welcome you as a new friend on this amazing journey of life. It's so important to remember that, while it's important to keep growing and changing, we are worthwhile where we are now.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I think it's great to launch a business during this time. One of the positives I hope will come out of recession is moving away from anonymous, corrupt, faceless corporations back to personal businesses again.
